Which End?
In general, do you prefer the beginnings of stories? Or the ends? That's an interesting question. I suppose my answer will have to be obstinate, when I say that I think I prefer the middle. You know, the part after you get a take on the characters involved, and the story that is unfolding around you. Once the storyline reaches its climax, however, and we are left only with the tidying up of loose ends, while I want to see the closure that is taking place, I want it to move along quickly, from that point. I think this is much of the reason I like serial characters from authors; that way, I don't have to get to know the characters at the beginning of every book, and I have an inclination into what type of situation the storyline will involve - In other words, I can get right into the meat of the story from the onset; no beginnings. And, no ends, come to think of it, because you expect these characters to show up again in the next upcoming adventure. So, yeah, I prefer the middles.
